SECURITY

The Briarbend Community Improvement Association is committed to ensuring safety in our neighborhood. Therefore, Briarbend is contracted with an off-duty police officers to patrol the neighborhood.

Use the Houston Police Department as your first point of contact for emergencies or minor security incidents. But please also report any incident to the Briarbend Security Committee as soon as possible. This helps to ensure that our patrol officer, the Board and other neighbors are aware of neighborhood incidents quickly and can work together to prevent any future security issues.

Flock Safety Security Cameras

The Briarbend board voted to implement a Flock Safety camera system starting in 2022 that will be accessible to the Houston Police Department and the Briarbend Security Patrol. Flock Security has a Hot List feature that alerts police when a vehicle passes by a camera if the vehicle is on the  Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Crime Information Center (NCIC) hot list.

Security When You are On Vacation

If you plan to be out of town, take advantage of the opportunity for an extra set of eyes watching your house while you are gone. Complete and email the Briarbend Vacation Watch form before you depart to our lead officer, Teresita Castro, at teresitacastro.tx@gmail.com so the officer on patrol is aware that you are out of town. Please do not email your Vacation Watch to Security.
